Former South African opener Gary Kirsten has confirmed late on Tuesday night that he has accepted the job of India's new coach. The 40-year-old, Kirsten is all set to sign a two-year contract starting March 1, 2008, but he will join the Indian team briefly as a consultant in the Australia tour.
He had earlier confirmed to CNN-IBN that accepting the job was just a formality and there were reports of a rethink by Kirsten as he had been quoted as saying that he wanted more clarity from the the Indian Board after hearing rumours that senior players were concerned about his appointment.
Hope this selection makes the indian cricket team to become a tough side to play with.
