ISLAMABAD: Newly elected Prime Minister Makhdoom Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani will take oath at 11 am in the Presidency today.

President Pervez Musharraf will administer oath to the new prime minister. More than 500 invitations have been sent to all the important political and other personalities including PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif, President Shahbaz Sharif and Co-chairman of PPP Asif Ali Zardari. However, the ruling alliance has announced not to attend the oath-taking ceremony.

After administering the oath, President Pervez Musharraf will hold a formal discussion with Yousaf Raza Gilani.

KARACHI: The Co-Chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Asif Ali Zardari, telephoned MQM International Secretariat London and thanked Altaf Hussain for unconditional support and vote for Yusuf Raza Gilani for the election of Prime Minister.

This was stated in a press release of MQM International Secretariat issued here on Monday.

It said the chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Altaf Hussain, thanked Asif Ali Zardari, Chairman of PPP Bilawal- Bhutto Zardari, and the party’s leaders and workers on election of Yusuf Raza Gilani as the Prime Minister.

The press release said Asif Ali Zardari assured that every one would be taken along in the interest of the country, the nation as well as democracy.
