PESHAWAR: Electricity remains suspended for the last nine days in Parachinar and adjoining areas in Kurram Agency and villages in Afghan Border while the Peshawar-Parachinar Road could not be restored for traffic after three weeks.
The power was suspended in the above areas after an electric tower was brought down in Sada area nine days back and no work was started for the restoration of the same.
Traffic remains off the Peshawar-Parachinar road even after passage of three weeks following kidnapping and murder incidents there.
Addressing a press conference, Kurram Agency Councilor Inayat Hussain and other tribal leaders said the Kurram Agency’s economy has been completely destroyed because of lack of security arrangements at Peshawar-Parachinar road. They demanded of the government to take immediate steps in this regard.
