Shoaib Malik might just have to step down as the captain of the Pakistan cricket team when he returns home after the so-far disastrous tour of India, that has come under a lot of criticism. The coach, Geoff Lawson is also likely face the same fate, a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official said on Sunday.
"There is no guarantee that the governing body would allow Malik and Lawson to complete their tenures as they are unhappy with the team performances," said a PCB source.
Malik was appointed as the captain of the Pakistan team until December 2008, while Lawson had been given a two-year contract with the PCB that ends in August, 2009.
Pakistan have already lost the five match One-Day series 2-3 and is already 0-1 down in the ongoing three-match Test series.
